Privacy Policy
Last updated: 31 May 2026
Sloth is a personal project, supported by optional donations. This policy explains, in plain language, what data it handles and why.
What we collect
- Your email address — but only if you sign in with Google. We use it as your account identifier: it's the key that links your bookmarks, notes, and theme preference to you. We never receive or store your Google password.
- Your activity within Sloth that you create by using it: articles you bookmark, articles you read, notes you write, and your chosen display theme.
- You can browse Sloth without signing in. If you don't sign in, we don't collect any personal data about you.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data. To anyone. Ever.
- We don't use advertising trackers or third-party analytics that profile you.
- The “views” number on an article is a single global tally that ticks up by one each time the article is opened by anyone — it isn't tied to your account, your email, or your device, and it isn't combined with anything else. We keep no per-person view analytics of this kind: article views are completely anonymous.
- We don't send you marketing email.
Where your data lives
Your data is stored in a hosted Postgres database (Supabase), and the app runs on Railway. Signing in is handled by Google. These providers process data on our behalf so the app can function.
Your choices
You're in control of your data. You can delete individual bookmarks and notes from the app at any time. To delete your entire account and everything associated with it, go to your account page and use the “Delete all my data” button. It's a hard delete that takes effect immediately.
Children
Sloth isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
